What Should I Bring to my Senior Session in Reno/Tahoe?!

April 7, 2023 in Senior Portraits, Tips and Tricks

After you’ve booked your Reno senior portraits with an amazing Reno Senior Photographer (I sure hope that’s me!), you’ll start preparing for an amazingly FUN day! And now, if you’re like many of my clients, you may be wondering “what should I bring to my senior session?” But don’t worry, I’m going to walk you through a list of FIVE very important things to bring to your session!

Walking shoes

We may be doing a bit of walking from one background to another, so it’s important to bring some COMFY shoes to walk around in. That way you can save your cute heels for the photos!

Makeup essentials

Your professional hair and makeup artist(s) have enhanced your beauty and now you’re ready to shine – but we’re going to be laughing so much that you’ll definitely want to reapply some lipstick or lip gloss. So my advice is to pack a SMALL bag with makeup essentials just in case you need to reapply some foundation, blush or lipstick.

Something that showcases your personality (AKA props)

Even if you’re at a loss to think of one item to bring to showcase your personality, start thinking of the things you enjoy. Your car? A musical instrument? Do you have a vinyl record collection? We can have so much fun with props to make your interests and personality a big part of your portraits!

Emergency Kit

It would be a bummer to get a headache during our session without a simple pain med in sight! I always encourage a little emergency kit with things like medications, bandaids, safety pins and tampons.

A friend!

This might sound silly, but bringing a friend can add a level of comfort that you just can’t get any other way. Plus, they’ll be able to get fun behind-the-scenes videos and photos of your fun experience! And then you can all go out to dinner after our session and continue the fun.

——————————

These are just some ideas, but when you book your senior portraits with me, you’ll get way more tips than this on how to prepare for your session – including what to wear, and a more detailed list on how to get ready for your session, including more things to bring and what not to forget!

Get in touch with me if you want the Fifth and Chestnut senior portrait experience – my calendar books up quickly (especially for summer and fall sessions).
