Throughout the planning process, I’ll provide expert guidance so that you are fully prepared every step of the way. I’ll share things like what to bring, how to take care of your skin prior to your hair and makeup appointment and so much more!

SO WHAT DOES THE SENIOR
PORTRAIT PROCESS LOOK LIKE?
After doing this for over 18 years, I have a consistent process in place so that every senior gets the elevated experience they deserve.
– STEP 1 –
REACH OUT!
The first step is to inquire through my contact form. I’ll email you with information on what a senior experience with me entails and all the details on how to book a session! I’m always available to answer questions via zoom or on the phone, too.
Once we have your session booked, we will collaborate together and fully plan your session – matching locations & wardrobe to your individual style! I recommend booking 3-6 months in advance to give us ample time to create your vision & plan it fully.
– STEP 2 –
SESSION PREP
I’ll mail your Welcome Kit and you’ll get my in-depth What to Wear Guide to plan your session style & gather props to elevate your senior photos to the next level. Unlike other photographers who may suggest outfit ideas, my extensive guide covers things like what colors go best with your skin tone, comprehensive outfit inspo + way more!
I’ll also communicate reminders & tips along the way to prepare you for the BEST senior session so that you never feel rushed or confused!
– STEP 3 –
WE’VE GOT HAIR & MAKEUP COVERED!
You’ll be pampered with top-tier professional hair and makeup services in Reno/Tahoe so that you don’t ever have to worry about researching who to go to and schedule with a reputable artist or team. We only work with the best.
I make sure that every hair stylist and makeup artist we work with is going to give you the look you want and make sure you still look like you!
– STEP 4 –
YOUR SENIOR SESSION
Now that it’s time for your portrait session, let’s relax, have fun and showcase your personality.
When we arrive at our locations, I will guide you through natural, flattering poses that feel like “you.”
You won’t ever have to worry about how to pose, and you’ll have a beautiful, natural glow with the makeup and hairstyle that makes you feel confident!
– STEP 5 –
PICTURE-PERFECT RETOUCHING
After your session, I’ll devote many hours carefully culling, editing and naturally retouching these incredible portraits by hand. A blemish or bruise will not make a statement on your walls forever. I’ll also take out background distractions like that kid on the beach who thought it’d be funny to photobomb us. And in that moment, we can laugh knowing that I can delete them later. You can trust that you’re going to look like the very best version of YOU, and absolutely adore your final (and carefully retouched) portraits.
– STEP 6 –
DISPLAY & ENJOY YOUR PORTRAITS
Once the images are ready, we will meet for your in-person Image Premiere at my downtown Reno studio, where you and your parents will view your gorgeous images and I’ll walk you through choosing how to display your senior portraits so that they’ll be enjoyed forever rather than disappearing on a hard drive. We will collaborate on your beautiful heirloom artwork designs together at this time so you know EXACTLY how your archive-quality displays will look!
INVESTMENT
Fifth and Chestnut senior portrait experiences include complimentary professional hair and makeup services, pre and post-session prep materials, a fully customized and elevated on-location photoshoot, signature retouching services and an in-person Image Premiere where I’ll personally help you select and design archival artwork so that your portraits are displayed and treasured for a lifetime and more.
A session retainer reserves your date on my calendar. Artwork, products & digital images are separate from your session retainer. Artwork collections begin at 700 and include a variety of products to ensure you’ll go home with meaningful keepsakes you absolutely adore.
