Luminous Lake Tahoe Senior Portraits in Rubicon Bay by Lake Tahoe Senior Photographer
Zoe’s incredible, luminous Lake Tahoe senior portraits in Rubicon Bay were one of the highlights of my summer! The day was STUNNING as far as summer days go. Perfect weather – and the light shining on the lake was to die for. And Zoe was a complete joy to photograph with her family. Especially at a location that’s so meaningful to all of them.
Tahoe Cabin Senior Photos
To start our session, we began at Zoe’s family cabin in Rubicon Bay. Their neighborhood was SO cute. It was the perfect spot to grab a few family photos before heading to the beach. Zoe’s white jeans and Navy top worked great here. And she had a second outfit – can’t go wrong with a little black dress! That outfit was SO pretty with the daisies that her neighbor had planted.
Beach and Pier Portraits on Rubicon Bay
After capturing Zoe in the areas around her cabin, we headed to the beach. She relaxed on the pier and sand in her black dress, which was so fun. After that, Zoe changed into the most gorgeous white dress with long sleeves. You’ll see that by the end of the session, her dress was fully soaked from getting in the water!
Side story – at one point during our session, my off-camera lights ALSO went for a swim. The tiniest gust of wind basically picked up my soft-box umbrella and took my whole lighting setup sailing into the water. Luckily, a group of swimmers AND Zoe’s dad came to the rescue and pulled everything up from the bottom of the lake. And only one of my lights actually broke, so I’m thankful for their quick action đŸ˜‰
We utilized every OUNCE of beautiful sunlight and ended our session in the actual dark. A kind stranger even offered his flashlight to help light our final scenes.
This session was absolutely one for the books and I SO enjoyed working with Zoe and her family. I loved helping them create wall displays for Zoe’s grandparents, and a stunning image box for Zoe’s home, too.
