Fallen Leaf Lake is a stunningly gorgeous Lake Tahoe location for portraits. If you’re interested in Fallen Leaf Lake portraits, read ahead!

Fallen Leaf Lake is located near South Lake Tahoe, between the casinos and Emerald Bay. Glen Alpine Falls at Fallen Leaf Lake is really breathtaking once you see the area in person. The lower falls are where I prefer ti photograph sessions ranging from family and maternity to engagement.

Lower Glen Alpine Creek Falls at Fallen Leaf Lake changes with the season, as with any other waterfall. In the early summer, the falls are more productive, and towards the end of summer, the falls slow down.

The photos below were taken in August, when the falls were calm. This is the best time, in my opinion, for Fallen Leaf Lake portraits at Glen Alpine Falls!

In addition – this area is for the more adventurous. It’s not easy to get to, and you have to be willing to change plans if the waterfall is more or less raging at the time of your session. It’s totally worth the drive, though.
