Ahlfeldt Truckee Family Portraits by Truckee Family Photographer
I was asked to create Truckee family portraits for the Ahlfeldt family while they all met up in Truckee from around the WORLD. This was SO exciting for me! Jennifer chatted with me on the phone all the way from Germany! I was really looking forward to meeting her and her extended family.
Unfortunately, I had a complication with my pregnancy around 10 weeks along or so, and ended up in the ER for a night. I was also on bedrest for two weeks afterward. And this family’s session fell into that two week period. Ugh! Luckily, my associate Whitby was there for me and stepped in to create the Ahlfeldt family’s portraits in my place.
Truckee Family Portraits on a Summer Day
I was so sad that I couldn’t be there for this portrait session. However, I’m SO happy knowing these portraits were in the good hands of a fellow professional. Even though I wasn’t there, I can tell they all had a great time together by looking at the portraits Whitby captured 🙂
Thank you, Whitby! And thank you to the Ahlfeldt family who rolled with the punches of not only MY absence, but weather issues, too!
Luckily the rain and clouds cleared up before this family went back to their homes around the globe! Now they have these wonderful portraits to remember their time together in Truckee, CA.

My surname is Ahlfeldt. My great great great grandfather Carl Ahlfeldt was born in Germany in 1806 and was connected with the newspaper press of Germany. He left Germany in his forties and went to live in England in the Isle of Wight. I don’t even have the names of Carl Ahlfeldts parents. We’re the Ahlfeldt’s German? Maybe somebody reading this comment can give me some answers. I really hope so.

Hi Leanne! I love that you’ve found other Ahlfeldts! Unfortunately I can’t answer your question as the photographer but I hope maybe someone from the family sees your comment and is able to reach out to you!

Hi Erick. My name is Leanne and my surname is Ahlfeldt. I see from your comments that you know the Ahlfeldt family. I am looking for information about my Ahlfeldt family because my family doesn’t have any information, we dont even know what nationality the Ahlfeldts are. We think they might have been German? The Ahlfeldt surname sounds German. Do you think your Ahlfeldt friends would know about the history of the Ahlfeldt family? Because the spelling is the same maybe I am distantly related to them. Could you please do me a favor if you are still in contact with the family please show them my email. I would really like to know about my Ahlfeldt family, My great great great grandfather was born in German in 1806, he left Germany and went to England, most of the family went to America.
Leanne Ahlfeldt.
