Senior Portraits at Caughlin Ranch and Lake Tahoe with Emma | Class of 2026
Senior portraits should tell a story. And Emma’s summer senior portraits at Caughlin Ranch and Lake Tahoe did exactly that! From quiet creekside moments at Caughlin Ranch Ponds to the peaceful shoreline of Lake Tahoe, her Class of 2026 portraits were full of charm, light, and meaning.
Emma brought so much personality to her session. She wore the cutest dresses – each one with soft textures and colors that photographed beautifully. Whether she was standing confidently in her black and red letterman jacket or twirling by the water in a tiered floral dress, her style choices helped tell her senior story in a truly authentic way.

At Caughlin Ranch, we found the perfect early fall touch with some golden leaves already making an appearance! It was the ideal backdrop for her birthday celebration during the shoot – complete with balloons and a mini cake. Turning 18 is a huge milestone, and I loved that Emma and her mom wanted to document that moment alongside her senior portraits.
She also brought along a few childhood stuffed animals that added such a sweet and personal element to the session. I always encourage my seniors to think about details like that; things that represent who they are right now. These little touches make portraits even more special and meaningful. And even sweeter, Emma’s mom stepped into the frame for some photos with her daughter!

Later in the session, we headed up to Carnelian Bay at Lake Tahoe. Despite the clouds, the light was soft and dreamy. Emma even dipped her toes in the water – such a fun way to end the day! The dock, boats, and calm lake water created a peaceful setting for her final look of the evening. She even made a friend with the sweetest duck!
