Aliya’s Class of 2026 Summer Senior Portraits in Tahoe
Aliya’s summer senior portraits in Tahoe was an event to remember! We started at the lush and vibrant Caughlin Ranch Ponds in Reno. The green grass and peaceful creeks created a dreamy summer backdrop. Although rain was in the forecast, we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. Sure enough, just as we arrived, it started raining. Luckily, the rain stopped quickly, and we were able to kick things off with some beautiful portraits in the greenery.
After a magical start at the ponds, we hit the road toward Tahoe City, where the Martinez family has a beloved summer cabin near Page Meadows. This part of the shoot was especially meaningful; Aliya and her family have made memories in this area for years, so it was the perfect spot to continue her senior portraits. I absolutely love when my clients choose locations that are personal and filled with emotion. You can feel the connection in every image!
On the drive from Reno to Tahoe, a flash flood warning popped up on our phones. And the rain was definitely coming down. But somehow, by the time we reached Page Meadows, the rain was light and scattered. Just a sprinkle here and there. Honestly, looking at the photos, you’d never know the weather was anything but perfect! We got so lucky, and I’m so thankful the session went smoothly despite the forecast.
Dogs, Family & Sweet Memories
Throughout Aliya’s session, we included portraits with her sweet golden retriever Harper, who was a total star…and we also got photos with her Uncle’s beautiful pupper as well. Of course, we also captured moments with her parents and younger brother, which added such a heartfelt layer to the whole shoot. I love including family in senior sessions – it’s such a special time for everyone, and those images always become family favorites.
A Beachside Finish & Stormy Sunset Glow
To wrap things up, we visited the family’s beach spot in Tahoe City. It’s a stunning location with flowers, soft grass, a rocky beach, and charming piers – so perfect for senior photos. And just when we thought the session couldn’t get better, the stormy skies gave us the most epic sunset over the lake. The clouds lit up with soft pinks and oranges, giving us a golden glow to finish the evening. It felt like a little reward from the universe after the rollercoaster weather.
Thoughtful Planning = A Seamless Session
Aliya’s mom was incredibly prepared for this session. She brought a wagon with all of Aliya’s outfit changes, accessories, touch-up items, and more. It made transitions easy and kept the energy fun and stress-free. I want to give a big shoutout to her for following all the prep materials from my Senior Portrait Welcome Kit – that level of preparation made the day run so smoothly, especially with multiple locations and changing weather!
Her Outfits Were Pure Personality
Aliya’s outfits and props were absolutely perfect. From a dreamy white dress in the creek to cozy Tahoe jeans and a flowy sundress in the meadow, each look felt like her. She even brought along her soccer gear to highlight her time playing for Apex and added some touches to showcase her swim life with the Sparks Piranhas and Spanish Springs High School. Above all, I love when seniors bring outfits and props that show off who they are. It makes the portraits so authentic and fun. And highlighting Aliya’s passions and accomplishments was so amazing!
Aliya, you were such a joy to photograph. Thank you and your family for being so kind, flexible, and prepared! I feel so lucky to have captured these memories for you. I feel so lucky to be able to photograph you for the rest of your senior year on the Class of 2026 Senior VIP Team, too!
