Early Fall Senior Photos in Reno | Lily’s Senior Session

March 6, 2026 in Uncategorized

Early fall senior photos in Reno always have a special kind of magic. The light is warm, the trees are still full, and the air has that first hint of autumn. Lily’s senior session captured all of that beautifully.

This session was especially meaningful for me. Many years ago, I photographed Lily as a baby at her parents’ wedding. In fact, it was the first wedding I ever photographed. So when Jass and Mo asked me to photograph their youngest daughter’s senior portraits, it truly meant so much.

Watching Lily step into this milestone moment felt incredibly special. I am so grateful her parents included me again in such an important chapter of their family story.

We planned Lily’s early fall senior photos in Reno in two beautiful outdoor settings: the forested trails of Galena Creek and the peaceful ponds in Caughlin Ranch.

A Forest Setting at Galena Creek

We began Lily’s session surrounded by tall trees and soft forest light. Early fall is such a lovely time for senior photos in Reno because the sunlight filters gently through the leaves.

Right away, Lily brought such calm confidence to the session. She has a natural smile and a relaxed presence that made every portrait feel effortless.

Her first outfit was a soft neutral dress that worked perfectly with the forest tones. The light fabric and simple style felt timeless against the trees and granite boulders. This outfit also worked perfectly for the prettiest mother/daugther portraits!

Lily also brought bouquets of flowers for a personal touch. The bright roses and cheerful blooms added beautiful color to the scene. They also gave her something natural to hold, which created such soft and graceful portraits.

These little details always help early fall senior photos in Reno feel even more personal.

Later, Lily changed into a light blue top and a soft white skirt. She carried delicate white flowers, which looked beautiful in the warm forest light. The look felt playful, relaxed, and perfect for the setting.

Golden Hour at the Caughlin Ranch Ponds

Next, we headed to the ponds in Caughlin Ranch as the evening light started to glow. This area is one of my favorite places for Reno senior photos because the water reflects the sunset so beautifully.

Lily changed into a classic white dress and heels for this portion of the session. The look felt elegant and perfect for the golden hour light. And even MORE fun – Lily’s sister Daisy arrived for portraits with her mom & sister, too. It was so fun to see Daisy again as well. Time absolutely FLIES!!

As the sun dropped lower, the trees lit up with that soft golden glow that only happens during early fall evenings. The wooden bridge, the water, and the greenery created such a peaceful backdrop.

Later, Lily changed again into a relaxed outfit with jeans and a fitted top. This final look felt casual and confident. It was a perfect way to end her early fall senior photos in Reno.

A Full Circle Moment

What made this session truly unforgettable was the history behind it.

I still remember photographing Jass and Mo’s wedding years ago. Seeing Lily now, all grown up and preparing for graduation, was incredibly meaningful.

Jass and Mo, thank you for inviting me back to capture another milestone for your family. It means more than I can say that you trusted me again with these memories!!

Lily, it was such a joy spending the evening with you. I cannot wait to see where life takes you next!
