Ella’s Magical Lake Tahoe Senior Photos at the Meadows and Beach

May 12, 2026 in Senior Portraits

Lake Tahoe senior photos in September are always beautiful, but Ella’s senior session had an extra bit of magic. Between the golden meadows, soft lakeside light, and a dramatic storm rolling in across the water, her portraits felt full of personality and movement from beginning to end.

We started Ella’s session at the Nature Trail in South Lake Tahoe. This area is such a pretty spot for senior portraits in Tahoe because it has a little bit of everything. There are open fields, rustic fences, tall grasses, trees, and peaceful water views. It gave us so much variety before we even headed to the beach.

Senior Portraits in the Meadows

Ella began in a white skirt with a denim vest, and it was the perfect outfit for the soft meadow setting. The denim added a fun, casual touch. Meanwhile, the white skirt brought in such a sweet and feminine feel. We used the rustic fence, the grasses, and the water behind her to create portraits that felt relaxed, natural, and full of late-summer warmth.

After that, Ella changed into a white dress with her custom western cowboy hat. This look was so much fun. The hat brought in so much personality, and it fit the open field setting beautifully. Because the landscape had that soft, golden, western feel, this outfit looked right at home. It also added a playful side to her Lake Tahoe senior photos. As such, these ended up being some of Ella and her mom’s fave photos!

Next, she wore a patchwork pink flowy floral dress. This dress photographed beautifully against the natural colors around her. The pink florals popped against the neutral grasses and green trees, while the movement in the dress gave her portraits such a soft, romantic feel. It was one of those outfits that looked amazing while walking, twirling, and simply standing in the breeze.

Beachy Sunset Senior Photos

Then, we headed over to Nevada Beach for the last part of her session. Nevada Beach is known for its sandy shoreline and wide Lake Tahoe views, which made it a perfect sunset location for Ella’s portraits. You can learn more about this beautiful Tahoe beach here: Nevada Beach.

At the beach, Ella first changed into jeans and a white top. This outfit gave her gallery a clean, classic look. It also balanced so well with the water, sand, and soft evening light. Simple outfits like this are always a great choice for Lake Tahoe senior portraits because they keep the focus on the senior while still feeling timeless.

Then Ella brought out her softball jersey, glove, and ball. I always love when seniors include something meaningful in their session. These photos showed another side of who she is, and they added such a personal touch to her gallery. Her jersey looked great with the natural beach and tree backdrop, and it made the session feel even more like her. Her softball career has been such a huge part of who she is.

Finally, Ella changed back into her patchwork floral dress for the last part of the evening. By then, a huge storm was building on the other side of the lake. However, instead of hiding it, we leaned into it. The clouds added so much drama to the sky, and the wind gave her dress beautiful movement. As a result, the final images felt bold, beachy, and unforgettable.

Unexpected Beauty

That stormy Tahoe sunset was such a gift. The light was soft, the waves had energy, and the sky gave us the most beautiful mood. It was the perfect way to end Ella’s Lake Tahoe senior photos!

Ella, I loved photographing your senior session so much. You brought the best outfits, the sweetest smile, and such an easygoing energy to the whole evening. Thank you for trusting me with these memories. It was such a joy to capture this exciting season for you.
