Celebrating Danika’s Ph.D. with a Beautiful Grad Portrait Session at UNR
It was such an honor to photograph Danika and her amazing family again – this time for her UNR PhD graduation portraits!
I first had the pleasure of working with the Williams family for portraits a while back. So when they reached out again to document this special occasion, I was absolutely thrilled. It’s always the best feeling when clients come back. It means the world to me, and I don’t take that trust lightly.
A Big Achievement and A Beautiful Day
Danika’s accomplishment is incredible in itself, and it was so special to see her surrounded by the people who love and support her most. We included her husband Matthew, their three awesome kids (who were SO funny and full of energy), and even Matthew’s parents. It truly felt like a celebration from start to finish.
The session took place on the UNR campus, where the spring light and fresh greenery created the perfect backdrop. And Danika looked absolutely radiant in her cap and gown/cape, glowing with pride and joy.
A Family Full of Personality and Love
The kids brought such a fun energy to the session. Whether they were running around the steps of the Quad or wearing the graduation garments themselves (which was the cutest idea, EVER), they added so much laughter to the session. And that’s what I love capturing most: real, joyful moments. You could feel how proud they were of their mom and how tight-knit this family is. It was super fun to grab a few individual portraits of the kids, Danika & Matthew together – and even Matthew’s parents! Every couple deserves some photos together.
And the fact that Danika and Matthew brought their family into the celebration? It just speaks volumes about their love and support system.
Grateful Beyond Words
Danika, Matthew, and the entire Williams family – I can’t thank you enough for choosing me again to document your story. Being invited into these moments is such a gift, and I’m so happy I could help preserve this chapter for your family. Your joy, connection, and celebration of each other was so inspiring to witness.
