I feel like I’ve been in Vegas for the last two months. Maybe because I’ve spent a fair amount of time there lately. First for WPPI, and then I flew down last weekend for my best friend’s birthday! I’ve technically known Chloe since 2nd grade, but we became best friends between 8th grade and highschool, after a few years of rivalry for NO REASON. Chloe and I were meant to be best friends. There are very few people I’ve ever met than understand me quite like she does. Sorry I’m getting all sentimental. I can’t help it – I just love that girl.
So about Vegas….it was INSANE. I’ve never let loose quite so much as I did this weekend, and it was totally worth it. And it was something I really needed. I’m not really the type of girl that get’s all bedazzled and heads out for a night of dancing and fine dining, but in Vegas, it was two nights of that in a row.
Chloe brought her friend Stacie with her, and I just have to say we are an awesome group. Stacie’s birthday was also earlier in March, so it was like a birthday extravaganza. Too bad I’m a September baby. Stacie has an awesome personality just like Chloe and I can not imagine a different combination of girls I’d rather spend a weekend with than those two.
It was definitely a different experience being there with friends than being there for a photography convention. There was very little “work” involved this time – just a 15 minute boudoir session with Stacie (who is an excellent model by the way).
Together, Stacie, Chloe and I have some hilarious stories to tell…..none of which I will tell on the blog 😉 What happens in Vegas seriously stays in Vegas. I can tell you that when you order a crab cake appetizer for $22 expecting it to be enough for three people to share…you will be wrong.
If this is what we do for Chloe’s 28th…I wonder what we’ll do for her 30th???
Here’s the weekend in pictures 🙂
These boys saw me with my camera – which is you know, huge – and joked about me taking their picture. I turned around and MADE them line up for a photo, which suddenly they didn’t want. Boys, don’t mess with me. I am much more confident and assertive than you. I promise. Dear…….whatever your name was…..that I gave my business card to….email me for your photo.
I love when Chloe looks at me in our photos – it always looks so sweet 🙂
These are some of my FAVES from the weekend. The light was so gorgeous – and so were my models!
Aw, Chloe just lost twenty bucks.
This guy was wearing a shamrock t-shirt, which was not helping anyone win anything. I told him to go back to his room and change into something else…maybe something with a 13 on it.
I do not typically wear leopard print…but I have to say…..I look pretty good in it.
This is the ONLY non-phone photo of all three of us from this weekend.
Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday, Chloe. Your birthday weekend was amazing. I really love Las Vegas. You would think I wouldn’t care since I live in Reno and am exposed to pretty much the same kind of stuff all the time, but Vegas is very different from Reno….and it’s just very very fun. And oh yes – all these photos were taken with my 24-70L lens I just got coupled with my new 5D Mark II – and I LOVE THEM. LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOVE.
On our way to the airport to fly home, we had the sweetest cab driver, ever. He told us stories about people selling the jackets off their back to pay for their cab rides since they lost all their money gambling – but then he told us about his fiance. It was so sweet because you could just tell he LOVES talking about her. He said that once he was a bad man that made a lot of mistakes, and she changed – and saved – his life. And then he told us that she was his entire world.
I want a man who can say that about me. I might have one….he just needs to prove to me that one day he will be that sweet old man telling stories about his wife that he wouldn’t trade for anything.
