While we planned their colorful and musical Reno engagement portraits in Downtown Reno, I asked Holly and Mike to tell me how they became engaged. I was blown away with a story of intricate planning which resulted in the most unique and thoughtful proposal I have ever heard!
You see, Mike sent Holly’s engagement ring through the mail (OMG, scary!) to an influential musical influence from her past, who then sent it on to another…and to another (I forget how long this chain of mentors was…but her ring basically went a long, long ways)! Each of these mentors packaged up the box they received into a box of their own and sent it on to the next person. Finally, Holly was mailed a package that contained boxes from these mentors. She opened each box and then finally the one that contained her engagement ring. How…..amazing….is that?!!
And her ring? Her treble clef engagement ring is incredible. You’ll see it in the selection of my favorite engagement photos from their vibrant Downtown Reno session below.
A musical Reno Engagement at Hub Coffee Roasters on the River
We thought the area around Hub Coffee Roasters in Downtown Reno, right on the river, would be a perfect spot for their engagement. And I really do think it was a great fit for Holly and Mike’s fun an vibrant personalities. I had a blast roaming the area with them, chatting about music (Beyonce was playing everywhere around us), sharing laughs and taking photos together! I even got to hear them sing and play the ukulele. I’m so happy they let me in on their special world and let me witness and capture those moments.
These two are getting married this Fall at the Grove in Reno, and I can’t wait to capture their wedding day!
