If you missed the sneak peek of Anthony and Andrea’s Virginia City engagement, you’re missing just a few of my favorite photos from the day. Here are the rest of my faves – and it was SO HARD to not pick, like, ALL of the photos.

Anthony and Andrea brought so many cool props, and they got us on top of the Delta Saloon which set the day off so awesomely. Everything after that continued to work out great – just moving along from one cool spot to the next. Virginia City is eye candy alone – but the props!! Oh my gosh, the props. They brought hand-made flower arrangements, a bicycle, a trike, balloons, multiple outfits, a skateboard and so much more.

If I can offer one huge bit of advice to couples having their photos taken, it’s to bring props! They add a neat element to your photos and allow you to express who you are as a couple.

This was such a fun shoot, and I loved just spending a day with these guys. Congrats Anthony & Andrea – I KNOW your wedding is going to be so amazingly beautiful. And you two are the greatest 🙂 I also love how these photos tell a story of a fun day in Virginia City. Love, love, love.

Watch out, May 27, 2012 – Anthony and Andrea are gettin’ hitched! You’ve seen Anthony and Andrea before here, but now – they are engaged! I absolutely adore these two. I’ve worked at Cube with Anthony for over three years now, and I just absolutely love Andrea. Last time I took their photos (back in October), I felt pretty awkward as a photographer, but this time around, I felt so comfortable and I could tell they felt comfortable, too. We met up at the Silver Dollar, and after a drink or two, we headed off into the wild west (across the street) to start the shoot. And they brought so many fun props! This is just an itty bitty sneak peek because I’m just too excited to show these off! Keep an eye out on Sunday for the FULL sneak peek – in which you will see how awesome and spunky these two are!

I am so, so, so excited to show these photos. This session was held in Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe, at one of the most breathtaking spots I’ve ever seen in my time here in Reno/Tahoe. First of all, there’s a fat waterfall. It’s no joke…you’ll see in the photos. And secondly, there is an amazing view of the lake. And I can’t wait to tell you about this awesome couple!

Lucy and Tim won this engagement session with me through a My Wedding Library promotion, and I could not have hoped for a more deserving couple. Originally, Lucy and Tim weren’t planning on having engagement photos done – and that would have been such a shame – I mean, look at them! They were so natural in front of the camera, and so loving together. And it helped because man, it was hard to communicate over the loud roar of the waterfall (that’s Eagle Falls, by the way).

Speaking of the waterfall, Lucy and Tim bravely scaled a rocky ledge to get to a boulder on the edge of the falls…I got nervous just photographing them from a safe distance!

Lucy and Tim, I am so very happy that I was able to photograph you before your Lake Tahoe wedding in June. Matt and I had a great time with you in Emerald Bay. You are two amazing people and we wish you the very best in your journey together 🙂 And please take us to Brasil for your other wedding!! Hehe.

Funnest. Engagement Shoot. EVER! I don’t think anyone will ever be able to top the awesomeness of this. Robert and Aenne wanted a gaming  themed engagement session because that’s who they are. I love couples that embrace what it is that they love and incorporate it into their engagement shoot. I’m also doing some Dance Dance Revlolution inspired save the dates for these two – and I’m super excited to get started on those now that their photos are edited.

We started off at the ever-awesome Bartley Ranch. We drove in just a bit trying to decide where would be best for photos, when Aenne saw the bunkhouses, barn and tractor they have near the entrance. It was irresistible, so we hopped out of the car and trudged through the snow. Aenne had to wear my snowboarding boots to safely arrive at the location! Luckily I was wearing sneakers for once…but still not enough protection against the 6 inches of snow…at least 6 inches.

I have to applaud Robert and Aenne for standing out in the cold so long to get these shots – you guys were so great!

After we swam through the snow to get back to the car, we headed to my apartment for the rest of the shots. I don’t usually do engagement sessions in my house because, well…that means I have to clean. But Robert and Aenne brought an amazing spread of props and we had a lot of fun. I love that they are so obviously happy with each other – you can see it in their faces in every single shot. This was such a fun and playful shoot – Robert and Aenne, thank you so much – I CAN’T WAIT TO PHOTOGRAPH YOUR WEDDING! It’s going to be EPIC!

Brittany and Glenn, good friends of Andrea and Anthony, approached me to take their engagement photos in October, and I was so excited. Fall has to be my favorite time to take portraits. We started the shoot out at the Oxbow Nature Study in Reno, NV, and made our way to downtown, where we got some awesome shots by the river, as well as some shots in a more urban area. Brittany an Glenn – you guys were awesome!

Anthony and Andrea – you are two of my most favorite people. I absolutely loved taking your photos. This shoot took place at Rancho San Rafael in Reno, NV. There were two costume changes ( I LOVE it when couples do this), and we found quite a few awesome areas to serve as backdrops. Rancho San Rafael is such a versatile place for photos. It was also a lovely cloudy day, which gave us some awesome light to work with. AND, Anthony and Andrea are ridiculously fun and sassy. They wanted some serious photos, and a lot of silly ones, too. *UPDATE* Anthony and Andrea recently got ENGAGED! So excited for you guys 🙂 I wish you the very best of luck in your life’s adventure.

Maurice and Jassmin approached me about their wedding and their engagement session very shortly before their wedding, so we headed to central Carson City for a lovely session around the courthouse. This is a nicely shaded area to take portraits on a hot and sunny, sunny day – which it was. This shoot really got me revved up to shoot their wedding, which I knew was going to be amazing. Oh and have I mentioned that it’s the generosity of this couple that helped me get into the amazing world of wedding photography? If not – oh my God, Jassmin and Maurice, thank you from the very bottom of my heart.
